We have made the decision to sell our O2 consumer Home Broadband and Home Phone business to Sky.
This arrangement with Sky lets us focus on giving our customers the best mobile experience, including next generation (4G) services. And helps you get high-quality home broadband from one of the leading companies in the market.
This is disappointing. BE/Teléfonica’s ADSL operation was one of the first (and is still one of the few) broadband operations in the UK not to be openly customer-hostile: it’s a good deal, they don’t treat their customers like idiots, and it is, overall, a good service.
With this sale to Sky, it’s a shame that when my fixed-line contract finishes in October, I doubt I’ll be looking to renew.
