It was with much sadness that I learned, earlier today, that Dr Kohei Honda, a lecturer and researcher in Computer Science at my university, died suddenly earlier this week, following a short illness. He was 45.
Dr Honda was a kind soul and had an excellent sense of humour, along with an extraordinary enthusiasm for his subject. He was well-liked within the School, and to lose him so suddenly, and so close to Christmas, is naturally a great shock.
I, and everyone else in the School of EECS who knew Kohei, will miss him deeply, and our thoughts are with his parents, his wife, and his close friends and family.
