Ars Technica reports that, in the final hours of the testimony stage of the Apple v. Samsung mega-infringement trial-cum-patent-cock-waving festival, Judge Lucy Koh has, in no uncertain terms, become infuriated by… well. It needs to be read to be believed.
"You want me to do an order on 75 pages tonight? When, unless you're smoking crack, you know that these witnesses are not going to be called?" Koh shouted at Apple lawyers. "Who is going to call all these witnesses when you have less than four hours left?"
This whole legal battle is fast becoming a total farce, approaching a critical mass of legal wrangling, injunction-seeking and damages demands. If anyone is still unconvinced that the American patent system, and the idea of software and design patents in general, is broken, they are either dead, or one of the lawyers involved in the case. The legal fees they must be raking in will be astronomical.
