Well, there’s one of Windows 8’s main selling points gone in my eyes.

According to Ars Technica columnist Peter Bright on Twitter, it’ll be a Chrome-like deal (as in, built into the browser rather than being a plugin.) This will almost certainly be a disaster for security and battery life on Win32-based systems, and a double-disaster for performance on ARM-based systems.
